1. The Leadership Camp from 8th June to 10th June 2007 was attended by over 20 participants. They were mainly either experienced mountaineers or technical experts from the field of Outbound Development Programs. 

Shantanu Pandit, himself a seasoned mountaineer & a NOLS qualified instructor, covered a vast range of topics related to Leadership in the Outdoors. During the 3 days, discussions were held on various aspects such as Attributes of a Leader, Leadership Styles, Concern for the Environment, Decision Making, Safety, High Altitude Mountaineering, Documentation etc. Great emphasis was laid on standardization & documentation of practices in the outdoor including identification of camp sites, anchoring & belaying techniques, crises management etc so as to ensure maximum safety of people & environment. 

The sessions & break outs being extremely interactive saw enthusiastic participation from all. Shantanu shared his treasure of personal experiences. He recalled various examples from his Himalayan expeditions and other pursuits in the mountains. Other participants too brought in their perspective from their individual experiences thus enriching the learning. 

Chakram Hikers would like to thank Shantanu & all the participants for their contribution in making this event a success and looks forward to organizing such activities in the future.
